Mugilan Chitambram

Mugilan Chitambram has almost 15 years of senior management experience in online and offline marketing, online press releases, mobile development, digital campaigns, events marketing, strategic digital marketing planning and pioneered various digital advertising solutions. He has worked closely with Facebook API development & roadmap changes and has been involved in Beta testing of Facebook platform integration before Facebook’s expansion in late 2006 to countries worldwide. 

As a trainer, Mugilan has trained and coached across the region and many companies internationally and locally for almost 7 years. Collectively, he has conducted trainings, coaching classes and mentoring sessions for more than 768 hours. He has spoken at multiple regional conferences and workshops on topics such as branding, digital innovation, social media marketing and digital strategy.

Among the notable regional digital marketing conferences in which he has been featured as keynote and guest speakers are – CMO Innovation Summits, CMO Digital Asia, Digital Marketing Summit by IE, Digital SmarTech Asia, Malaysia Social Media Week, ExaBytes Internet Marketing Summits – and many others.

As a seasoned digital marketer and innovator, Mugilan has been awarded Malaysia’s Most Influential Digital Media Leader in 2016 by World Brand Congress and also was nominated by MIT in Top 25 Innovators Under 35. Mugilan personally has spent USD 210k+ in building and optimising FB Ads and FB Pages and has experience in handling digital media buying & advertising worth USD 25.7 Million in total across industries in APAC, US and European region. Mugilan has worked in U.S.A for 5 years mainly in social media marketing, including 2 years in Silicon Valley, San Francisco – which enabled him to get accustomed to Silicon Valley culture and to build valuable network – which is advantageous in helping him to be the pioneer in introducing break through digital media techniques in the APAC region to keep up the pace with the latest evolution of digital media.

Recently he built up a page for local corporate company whose social media following grow exponentially from 80k to 2.1 million within a year. He also has a reputation of building social media reach from merely 60k a month to 320 million unique reach a month.

Upon his return from U.S.A, with experience gained throughout years, Mugilan has founded Targetzen Sdn Bhd and introduced a breakthrough methodology in Facebook Advertising which is known as FIAT (Facebook Intelligent Audience Targeting) – which is capable of targeting niche user for advertisers to double up leads and conversion FB Ads. Mugilan has worked with some of the leading brands like Facebook, Intel, Google, Digital Point (US), Elite Clicks Media (US), Webwire (US), ASTRO, Bernama, BMW, CIMB Berhad, NTT Solutions, Celcom, SEGI University Malaysia, Focus Malaysia, HCK Property and many more. Apart from that, Mugilan is also known for developing Google Adwords solution that allows advertisers to reach millions of users for just $0.01 per ad-click.
